You Gov PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 13 May 2009 13:47

It's been a while since I used You Gov but I've started again (Because I'm skint!)

However the long and short is, answer questionaires and they will enter you into prize draws or pay you cash. When you have £50 in your yougov account they send you a cheque.

Not bad for what equates to about 5 minutes of your time a day.

Best of all refer people and for any questionaire they answer in the first 3 months you get the same amount they do credited to your account i.e. they answer a questionaire they get £1 so do you!

Heres my unhidden referal link

http://my.yougov.com/go.aspx?id=f9a09f0f-d826-4018-9311-2d41909bcba9

Go sign up and earn yourself (and me :P) some relativly free money!

Projects section PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 30 April 2009 11:36

I've now added a "Projects" section.

This will allow people to see what projects I'm participating in. Now these projects could be my own personal ones, projects that I contribute code and other items to or they could simply projects that I'm helping with i.e. a friends project that I help with.

Hopfully this will raise awareness to projects that other people can contribute to or even just show people why I'm busy all the time.

In this moment (GIAN) PDF Print E-mail

Well Thursday we when to see the band "In This Moment".

Although we actually went about midday to Birmingham with the intent on going to the sea life centre, however I got a bit pissed at the idea of paying £14 per person to enter when there were only open for about 2-3 hours more. So instead we opted to wander around some Goth shops, mainly the oasis center. Then went to a weatherspoons to eat dinner, because Thursday is curry and a beer night :P

The Gig

"GIVE IT A NAME INTRODUCES 2009"

At least that's what the concert was called. In reality it was a four band line up, with "3 1/2"* of them being good.

We had in line up order.

  • Versa Emerge

  • Lights

  • Whole Wheat Bread

  • In This Moment

Now please understand that I love rock, metal, music and the like however I know more about cars (coming from a computing background) than I do about rhythms, dynamics, influences, etc. Meaning don't expect anything in depth other than "yeah they were good, or they were crap" from me. This is coming from someone with a music technology qualification, just shows you that I know what I like but not sure about why.

Versa Emerge
I've never really heard of this band before, however they came out with some really good stuff. However as my fiancee pointed out they never actually introduced them selves, and it wasn't until the end of there set when they were giving the rest of the line up that we click who the fuck they were.

Lights
Now this band REALLY surprised me. The first song started with a keyboard! very techno'y. However it actually worked very very well with the style that the were performing.

although all I can say is that it's fucking "Ber" "mig" "um" not "Ber" "men" "ham". I know that it should be pronounced the way it's spelt but it isn't, people should do research before hand is all I'm going to say on that subject.

Whole Wheat Bread*
Now this band just didn't know what the hell they were doing. Not in the sense that they were crap, just that 1/2 way through there set they had an identity crisis.

It started off very rock/punk, a heavy greenday you could loosely say. Then all of a sudden they were me niggers**, they just burst out into rap, "yer yer yer innit, all dat stuffz innit!"

Then they went back too rock. Weird to say the least, although FeBB (a friend we met up with) apparently liked it.

In This Moment
Now this band was the ONLY reason I turned up. The other bands I suppose were a bonus. But this was the reason!

They came on and played wonderfully, I couldn't fault a thing, although I could object that they missed some songs that I wanted to hear live.

All in all a great night/day.

Best 2 moment were when a mosh pit broke out and I just gave my glasses to my fiancee and jumped in, much to FeBB's amusement, so when the next one broke out I threw him in, and he came out with a dead leg!

** Please note I only use this word because that's how they described them selves and sang about them selves, However don't get me started on the political craziness that they can use that word in a brotherly love way and a white person can't. Now I'm not a racist, I'm actually like this to everyone.

Pictures etc to be added in the near future.... Honest.......

Wow! how long?!? PDF Print E-mail

Well this place is still here!

I've got to apologise to people for the severe lack of updates, but honestly there are reasons. Whilst I'd rather not go into the details I'm happy to categorise them into Personal, Health, Business, Education and Laziness.

Anyway that behind..........

One of the best things about the e107 content management system, which this site is built on is the ability to "back post" meaning I can create posts and back date them to when I should have posted them, meaning it'll look like the site was never left to rot. Cheating? I don't care! It's my site! However just to play fair I'll put a big "BACKDATED" note on the top of them.

Let's start a fresh and see if I can keep up to date with things.

all that writting and only 3 spelling mistakes, now I know I'm on a "rool" :D
